Hey Friends,

One of the most surprising things I’ve learned over the years is to learn how to “Build a Second Brain”. I have come to realise that it require a  deep mindset shift to create an effective knowledge management system.

You would think or just list the best practices, recommend a good app, and be done with it. But I’ve found that people’s attitude toward information is one of the most deeply entrenched belief systems in their lives.

Now, where did this belief system come from ????

Probably, most of us have picked it up in school and college and had it reinforced at our jobs. We were often told these things:-
1. Information is scarceWe have to protect and hoard it ;
2. We must never draw on the ideas of others (that’s cheating)
3. More research is always better and;
4.  we never have enoughRisks are many and opportunities few;
5. And that you have to study for many years before you know anything worth sharing and many others.

In reality, the unconscious development of this Scarcity Mindset holds us back from truly embracing the information abundance which we now have access to online.

Let me ask you a Question? :- What would happen if we toppled this belief system?

My Personal experience is that “Being able to catch ideas as they come, is one of the most important things I could perfect. I build my second brain every single day for the rest of my career. This is not a static database but is rather a living, breathing system of information and knowledge management.”

Second brain is one of the best resources because it gives me the freedom to easily consume information, organize it, and create whatever I want to create out of it. It taught me a fantastic way to simultaneously learn more, and archive information, to be able to fully focus on one thing, all while keeping the information I have already collected readily available.

In the digital age we live in, you can’t balance as much information we take in every day without neglecting a few stalks or forgetting to water new ideas entirely. This systems take care of that and introduce an entirely new way of processing that will incorporate into daily life easily.

What is the concept of “Building Second Brain” ?

Building A Second Brain is a methodology for saving and systematically reminding us of the ideas, inspirations, insights, and connections we’ve gained through our experience. It expands our memory and our intellect using the modern tools of technology and networks.

This methodology is not only for preserving those ideas, but turning them into reality. It provides a clear, actionable path to creating a “second brain” – an external, centralized, digital repository for the things you learn and the resources from which they come.”

The newly acquired deep mindset shift will give you the following new take on the information : –
1. Information becomes power when you act on it;
2. We can outsource our memory to our devices or apps like ( Evernote , Notion, Drive Or I Cloud ).
3. Creativity is a collaborative, social activity.
4. Publishing our work can be easy and incredible fun;
5. And that you don’t need to be the world’s greatest expert to have something to offer.

Seeing this mindset shift in action actually made me realize that we only truly change when we see someone else, someone like us, changing first. That is where the belief that change is possible comes from. It’s important to dismantle the old mindset that no longer serves us. And to rebuild a new, more effective one in its place.

My question for you is: – Are you ready to unlearn? Are you ready to create a system, which can help you in your Knowledge management ?

Stay Safe
 Joe
